Fire Pump Package, Mampang
2026 · engineering

Supplied and commissioned a fire pump package for a commercial building in Mampang, South Jakarta through PT Witanabe. The package covered the main fire pump, jockey pump, controller panel, and associated pipework, sized to the building's fire protection demand and compliant with the applicable NFPA and SNI requirements for the installation.
Fire pump commissioning is not like commissioning a process pump. A process pump that trips on its first run is an operational inconvenience. A fire pump that fails to start when the system calls for it is a life safety failure. The commissioning procedure, performance curve verification, automatic start testing, jockey pump cycling, controller interlock checks, exists to confirm that the system will operate correctly under conditions where there is no time to troubleshoot.
The Mampang project ran on a tight handover schedule tied to the building's occupancy permit. That is typical for fire protection work: the system has to be certified and ready before the building can be used, which means any delay in supply or commissioning holds up the entire project. Delivering the package on time and completing commissioning within the available window was what the client actually needed, alongside a system that works.
What this proved: Fire protection systems must be ready for immediate operation. No margin for commissioning delays, and no acceptable failure mode once the building is occupied.
