Problem
The client's centrifugal pump had developed excessive vibration and intermittent overheating at the motor housing. The pump was still operational but performance had degraded. Previous maintenance had been limited to seal replacement without addressing the root cause.
What we did
- Full disassembly and inspection of motor assembly and bearing housing
- Identified bearing wear and shaft misalignment as root causes
- Replaced bearings, realigned shaft, reassembled with new seals
- On-site testing: vibration analysis, temperature monitoring, flow verification
Result
Vibration returned to within spec. Motor temperature stabilized. The repair extended the pump's operational life without requiring a full unit replacement.
